Pistol Permit?

Recommended Posts

I had to go through whole process again after 30 years. Much different living in KY. Hope process is quicker now.

No fingerprints must fill out the application fill in the box for how many pistol permits  go on line for state police check turn in application pay $2 for each permit wait to be called to pick up permits

Correct and incorrect. The NJSP states that being fingerprinted again isn't required, however, the Chief of the town that the OP lives in has the option of requiring it again. Not knowing what town the OP lives in or if his Chief requires it makes it not possible for me to answer either way. The rest of the process is the same. Again with references, each town is different if they recheck or resend out new letters.

References is a question on the application you have to answer so they send a letter to the two references you put on it. If it takes a long time to hear from the PD when you call and ask why they usually tell you they haven't heard back from your references yet so I usually give my references a heads up to tell me when they receive the letters and I deliver them myself to the PD after they fill them out.  I usually get 3 at a time whatever you don't use your only out $2 each You have to wait 30 days between handgun purchases. Permits are good for 90 days and can be renewed for another 90 days if you get it don before the first 90 days expires

Incorrect. Permit can be renewed after initial expiration date however the overall length of the permit can't extend past the initial 180 day threshold of the initial issue date.

Yea well I wouldn't take that chance

It is done at the direction and orders of the NJSP Firearms Unit which governs and guides all NJ agencies issuing permits. No taking of any chances. Call them to confirm if you like
