What are your thoughts about it without using Talking Points?

One thought I have been having with The democrats predicting a doomsday to anything the republicans what to do with it is --- just leave it alone as Obama intended with no Bailouts.

But then the republicans will still blame them. when did they become opposite teams going for a win for them selfs and Dam the rest?

Trump may be the best thing in years in Washington he sure has them off balance,  He is going faster than they can Handle.

It is a complete and utter disaster.  The ACA is a clear demonstration that politicians have no basic or fundamental understanding of economics.

Healthcare in the US is not broken, it's actually fantastic.  We have some of the more advanced systems and processes in the world and some of the most highly-trained medical minds working here.

The healthcare payment system is broken, and the ACA is incapable of fixing that.  It's far too complicated to resolve the issue.

Some of the challenges are:

  • Healthcare coverage varies state-by-state.  Each state creates regulations that insurance companies need to follow in order for those insurance companies to offer products and services in those states.  This is why in some states you can get outstanding coverage for a few bucks, but in states like NJ, we have very few insurance companies and pay a lot more money for the coverage.  But the first challenge to work through is this:  Should the federal government have greater authority than the states to regulate insurance products and services and create federal standards instead of state-based standards for offering insurance products and services?  There is no easy answer to this question, and it also brings up some very important constitutional issues that need to be worked through in order for this to happen.  I personally do not want to federalize insurance.  Look at how well the federalization of education has gone.  No need to give the feds the opportunity to fail again.
  • Giving buyers more buying power in a market will increase the costs of goods and services in that market.  Simply stated:  If your customers can afford a more expensive product, you will raise prices to increase margins.  Healthcare costs have risen because of insurance.  Instead of going to the doctor and getting that shot for $20, you now pay $125 for the shot.  It still costs the same to manufacture, and the doctor's time is still the same, but your insurance coverage allows you to buy more services.  So the price goes up because insurance is helping subsidize the cost.  So while insurance is supposed to be a good thing, it artificially inflates the costs of goods and services through its subsidies.
  • Doctors are also getting screwed by insurance companies.  The concept of tort reform will bring down those costs that the doctors have to pay.  When a doctor screws up and the patient sues for tens of millions of dollars, insurance covers that financial loss for the doctor, but all doctor premiums go up as a result.  If lawsuits were capped at a much lower threshold, insurance companies could cover those losses with regular policy payments, and it may slow down the rise in the cost of insurance that doctors have to pay.  As an example, in Las Vegas there are no OB/GYNs in the city.  The cost of liability insurance in Las Vegas for OB/GYN doctors is so high that doctors cannot make enough money to operate a profitable business while charging their customers a reasonable rate.  So now the city goes without healthcare professionals because it's too expensive to run a practice there.

Those three points are not addressed at all in the ACA or whatever the GOP is conjuring up.  The feds should stay OUT of the healthcare and insurance industries.  They need to deregulate healthcare a lot more to allow free markets and new forms of competition to emerge.  Cash-based, insurance-free emergency care facilities are popping up all over the place.  For under $100 you can get stitched up and sent on your way whereas that same trip to the emergency room may cost you upwards of $1,000.  This is a good thing.  This is competition and market forces solving the problem, not the government.  And that's the way it should be.

Sadly, America is going to get socialized medicine much like Europe, which will only speed up our rush towards economic collapse.

Trump has to fix healthcare or he will be blamed by the Democraps and fake news. Another Obama failure!

Trump already failed to fix healthcare.   The House "Republican" bill is simply Obamacare Light, and the Senate "Republicans" will water it down even more.   The writing is on the wall.

This is an old and very effective tactic the left uses:  (1) Increase government involvement in an area of the economy for some "noble purpose"; (2) When that area stops functioning effectively argue that proves we need more government involvement (rather than proof the government involvement screwed it up in the first place).

Same thing here.  The ACA will collapse; you only need a basic understanding of supply and demand and incentives to understand that.  The Republican bill probably won't pass...if it does, it won't fix the problem (it will just spread the blame).  Liberals will publish horror stories blaming Republicans, greedy doctors, drug companies, and insurance companies.  The Hollywood machine will come out in support while they sit on their millions and have their own private doctors anyway.  Every one will nod their heads and say: "We have to do something!"

We will have single-payer "Medicare for all".

More taxes, less medical innovation, more waiting times, worse healthcare.....universal coverage.  And happy liberals.

One side of me I don't think the government should be involved in healthcare and healthcare should be earned. Another side is, it's sad to see Americans sick and needing healthcare. For sure ObamaCare is a failure and current proposal is flawed as well. I do agree with whatever plan is put in place those with pre-existing illnesses should be covered

The truly outrageous fact that everyone misses is that a bunch of lawyers/politicians who have no science or medical background set out to change a medical system that was working for the majority of Americans, took money out of the pockets of doctors and hospitals and took no money out of the pockets of lawyers.  Lawyers always have and always will be against tort reform because it directly effects their wallets. Limit the amount of money they can sue for and you'll see costs go down dramatically. In addition, we as Americans and most of the rest of the educated world are over medicated.

Let medical professionals make medical decisions and take the lawyers out of it and you'll see a huge difference.
