Sulfurs showing on local NJ trout streams

We have experienced late hatches for the most part this spring so far, but the sulfurs have shown up a bit early which is odd.  Our Hendricksons which some years are over by Opening Day, are still hatching.  I have done several benthic macro invertebrate studies this spring for work and for my TU chapter, and each time was surprised by how late I was seeing a lot of Hendrickson nymphs and how young they were in early April still.

Yesterday, the Musky had BWOs, Hendricksons, sulfurs (I only say the larger invarias, size 14 or 16 and no dorotheas which are typically size 18).  There were also at least 2 different caddis out and various mayfly spinners in the air as evidenced by all the swallows feeding high over the tree tops on those spinners.  Get out and fish!  Not too many risers when I fished yesterday, but I ran into two different buddies that had seen and caught a bunch earlier on dries when the Hendricksons were coming off in good numbers.

Much, much, more better, really big, but ugly fish. Next picture should be of what should be stocked, beautiful fish with golden color and red spots!

I'd be far happier if it were a wild trout of any size. Took last week off to chase big, wild trout on the upper Delaware only to have blown out rivers and have to catch stocked browns in the Beaverkill
