Pear tree- leaf holes?

Recommended Posts

Post a pic of that on habitat-talk.com or deerhunterforum.com.

Those guys can identify whats going on. Looks like some type of disease with the black on the leaves.

Could be insects too, I just sprayed my apple trees. Caterpillars are all over my trees this year

I found some stuff at homedepot... "Orchard spray" protects against fungus and bugs. Dilute and spray every 7-10 days. I sprayed today. I'll keep an eye on it.

Can't help with identification of that particular issue but in terms of spraying, applying dormant oil in the late winter/early spring can really help deal with unwanted pests that overwinter in trees.  We just planted 5 apples, 1 crabapple, and 3 pears on my buddies property in Central NY. The property is 3 hours away so we tried to focus on disease resistant varieties as they won't get the amount of care that other trees may get. We're also focusing on rehabilitating many of the old existing apple trees that are on the property. Releasing, pruning etc

See link for info on dormant oil...Can't do it now but next winter/early spring you can apply.
