Who has completed the request of the state to fill out their questionnaire? Anybody have any thoughts on this request?

hard to judge by some of the questions.

But most of us answered we wouldnt pay a dime for additional fish

i answered i would not pay a dime for permit and when they asked how it will effect me i said i would sell my boat and go fish another state

i agree, they asked the same question a doz different ways it seemed.

The annoying thing is its not for an "additional" limit! It's for the same limit as last year!! You just don't have to fish with the new reduced limit. So basically its paying for the privilege to throw back everything under 18" just like before.

 

And this kills me - if the fishery is in such dire straits that they have to lower the bag limit and raise the size limit, how does it makes sense to then keep the old limits provided people pay for a permit? What, does the state getting extra money all of a sudden make the fishery magically all better? That just makes it seem like a money grab to me.

It sucks cause they want us to keep only the females, 90+ percent 18" and up are female. I don't see how that helps the population at all.

Sounds like a scam to me. Glad I sold my boat years ago.

I completed it. A rather oddly positioned survey, but I got where they were heading and answered "sportman/recreational-first" mentality.... When in doubt, I just said "I do whatever Zipper tells me too"

Did mine as well. We shouldn't pay a cent!! Us paying for something additional has nothing to do with the conservation of the fishery. Why that was even a focal point is beyond me.
