U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents seized nearly 300 pounds of prohibited yak meat, dung pods and seeds that were being imported to JFK Airport, the agency said.

The shipment the items, all prohibited in the United States, were declared as clothing, the CBP said.

 

Meat from areas like Nepal that are affected by rinderpest or foot-and-mouth disease are all prohibited.

 

Some seeds are also barred because they can contaminate other plants when introduced into the native environment.
