So I took VDep up on his offer to call for my two boys for youth day , he started scouting earlier in the week and located birds . Off we went at 5am on Saturday morning. The weather wasn't too cooperative and had one bird cut off by a hen in the early morning set up, so he decided to re group and cover some ground , we hiked around 6 - 7 miles total and covered about 5 locations he had seen birds earlier in the week ..... No Luck ???? My boys had a great time and I must say I learned a lot in 7 hours. We broke for lunch and shared stories and some upcoming plans. VDep busted his Azzzz to get these boys some birds !!! I can't thank him enough, we'll be out with him again soon. Thanks Bud

I'm so weak I am using a Cane or I would be out there. Teaching Kids to Turkey Hunt is a lot of fun. Even better if you get one but pointing out what Mother Nature is all about is great. Sad but you can find a hunter breaking the rules and point it out to them is easy. Of all the things I miss the most is Mentoring a new Hunter and taking a kid out for the opener.
