Something must have gone really bad in a hurry bc I checked the post and commented again. When I looked an hour or so later i saw that people had like my post, but the thread was gone.

Same here.  The entire thread is gone though.  A mod obviously deleted it

Honestly though, is it possible to find out what happened since you're one of the wizards behind the curtain?  It seemed like a pretty innocent conversation, although we all know how fast things can change here on the interwebz...

I kind of like having that option, as long as it's a thread that you personally started.  Sometimes we post something in the heat of the moment that we later regret.

Valid point.  I've updated it so users can delete their own posts, but not entire topics.

We can kick it around some, but I get others might be in mid conversation with a lot of context and OP deleting entire topic disrupts the rest of the members having that conversation.
