First day

not many people out this morning as the cold and fear of high water most likely kept most home. Those that did show up caught a few.

water came down alot last night.

drove through clinton, was a decent crowd there, but only saw one fish caught

I made it out early this morning with a few of my buddies. We had a little engine trouble.

I'll venture out tomorrow on the South Branch away from any crowds.  We're about 3 days for the start of our Hendrickson hatch in my best guesstimation.  Monday's mid 70s along with tomorrow's upper 60s and Tuesdays upper 70s should kick it all off.  Bugs hatching and trout eating on top.  Doesn't get any better than that until turkey season when it's gobblers in the mornings and dry fly fishing the afternoon and evenings.  Pinch me, spring is here!

LPJR did me solid - I was getting shutout with everyone else fishing a cold mountain lake, and I met up with him  on the big flat, he called me over to go across stream from him and limited out in 20 minutes on a blue fox undressed copper spinner, didn't need waders water was nice and a little stained. Thanks Lou!    He and his son did extremely well and left with limits too. Lou lost the trout of a lifetime...  He won't sleep tonight.

Was up at flatbrook this  morning loaded with guys caught 25 fish 2 nice size all else 8-9 inch

Opening Day Trout Season............ You don't have to catch fish to make it a great trip. Make a cast or two for me.

I netted this fish for this older gentleman, who was having trouble getting it thru the cattails.  Fish of his life.  Made my day!  8lbs. If anyone knows him I'll send you the picture so you can send it to him.

Nice day but a little chilly this morning. I didn't go but drove past 2 streams and only one truck at each at midnight morning. Came passed a little while ago and there were 4 or 5 trucks at each now. Must have been to cold for a lot this morning.

Glad to assist Jack. You were like a machine once you found the spot!  Was great to fish with you at the spots where both you and I cut our teeth fishing when we were younger... I will post pics of the morning soon....

8lbs 9oz golden trout...there was also a 10lb 2oz trout caught which took the grand prize.
