Food plot progress

I used a groundhog max disc for the atv to tear up the grass.. half acre worth.

Worked pretty good, I'm gonna do it again once dirt is drier cause there are patches where I can see grass tips through the soil.

 

The rain washed the dirt down under the shale, which will probably be my biggest issue.

 

 

Then I used a York rake to smooth over all the clumps, remove piles of grass and cover the showing shale. Soil was too wet really, so I'll redo all these steps when it dries out some.. just wanted to get a head start today after all the rain

 

 

Next step: disc and rake again

 

Maybe spray grass killer if it keeps poking through? I gotta call whitetail institute and ask what they reccomend..

 

Then 650 lba lime and 120lbs fertilizer.. rake it in

 

Then cultipack

 

Then seed

 

Then cultipack

 

Then wait

Lol- the key is don't tell her.. (mention it in coversation, and giver her a chance to shoot down the idea.. if she doest, then just let her come home from work to find the lawn a mudhole... now there's no chance for her to shoot the idea down- too late.

Lol, I'm not doing this to hunt on.. I'm doing it for pet deer
