Tree planting party!

Recommended Posts

I put in 21 apple, plum, peach and pawpaw trees last year, digging is no joke no fun, sorry we're going to the basset boardwalk waddle. But you have fun, we got enough rain to make holes pretty easy

Not a complete a$$ hole just one of the dingle berries that hang off it.

Jay, they are bare root trees and 50 will only take you an hour or so by yourself.  I'm planting the other 50 myself on Saturday at my Sparta property.  No need to dig a hole like you would with a balled and burlapped tree or even a containerized tree.  Just cut a slice into the ground with a good, sharp shovel and stick all the roots below ground then tamp it down on both sides with your boot and done.  Bare root plantings go very fast because of that.  Thankfully the ground is nice and wet right now!

Jay, Jay, Jay.  you are getting SPRUCE trees, not PINE from what I gather (Norway Spruce to be specific).  Although technically - all members of the Pinaceae (pine family).

Alas,  you really need to be more accurate at the "GENUS" level, given the intellect of the average NJWW membership vs the collective Neolithic accumen at NJH. Seems to be a lot of biologists on here, so I am trying to save you some embarrassment.

Here let me be of some assistance:

A pine is any conifer in the genus Pinus, /ˈpiːnuːs/,[1] of the family Pinaceae.

A spruce is a tree of the genus Picea /paɪˈsiːə/,[1] a genus of about 35 species of coniferous evergreen trees in the family Pinaceae, found in the northern temperate and boreal (taiga) regions of the earth.

As your good neighbor, I now feel I have sufficiently contributed toward this endeavor...   (Will try and stop by though)

Jay make sure you put rub guards on all the fruit trees, those nocturnal bucks lurking about will be sure to shred them by mid-October the latest...  I will do my best to keep all the bucks on my side of the township though so it's not an issue for you.

Lol. What bucks?

I was gonna, but the trunks are only 1ft tall before branches start. Deer will destroy the branches due to height.

I may put a dinky wire fence around each tree 1ft aqay
