Shot the new Halon 32 yesterday....

I went to Simon Peter to buy some salmon eggs, and a new reel.  I had no intention of shooting a bow, was figuring to get yet another year out of my 2010 mint condition  Matthews z10.    Tom was there, didn't seem to be busy which is rare.   I asked him what I would like the most, since he knows I prefer forgiving bows over speed.   He quickly converted the module on a 60# 29" down to 28", and I shot it...  Wow - is all I can say. The draw, the wall, the release, the quietness and speed.    It's significantly lighter than my z10 as well...   I have sure killed a lot of deer with this bow, there are 10 bucks on my wall attributed to it, and countless does and a coyote.  I have a hard time letting go.....

Still thinking about it......  and thinking..... and thinking...

I really don't need this, and besides, shouldn't I shoot like 10 other bows first?

Anyway - I am open to taking a fare offer on my 2010 Z10 -

28"

65#

Matthews silent quiver, with harmonic dampeners

QAD Ultra drop-away rest

Brand new HHA single pin slider sight (2016)

Winners Choice String (2015), but not stretched out still like new.

Custom "focus" grip.

$450 takes her..... (or more if you think I am too low....)

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…

Do yourself a favor and shoot some other bows first. In particular: PSE (the Evolve or Evolve 35), Prime, Xpedition, and Elite.  I'd be curious to know what you think after shooting those guys and then going back to the Halon.

I think people are doing themselves a tremendous disservice buying a bow without shooting all of those companies, and in particular the new PSE evolve cam bows.

Want to buy a 4 year old Creed used 2 seasons. I have original recipe and I bought from Tommy. You can shoot it and try it out

No thanks, if I am making the switch, it will be for brand new everything...

I see the closest ELITE dealer is in Stockholm, Garden State Bow and Reel. (according to Elite dealier locator) That's a little too far.   Honestly - I value close, local service. I know at Simon Peter, I have an issue, they have always been great service to me. There is no price for that. I like the piece of mind knowing that my pro shop is less than 10 minutes away.

But wait - according to Simon Peter website, they do have Elite?  I will check next time I stop in...

Have fun shopping for your new bow, shoot and try as many as you can Jack...I still hunt with my 2005 Mathews Switchback. I just cannot justify the expense of replacing it with a new one, although I have thought about it many times, lol!

To each their own...had bad experiences at Simon Peter and think few area shops do better setting up a bow than Garden State. Anyway, as others said.....shoot as many different bows as possible. The Elite is as sweet shooting as there is. Edited by nmc02
