Has anyone planted miscanthus x giganteus for screening cover?

It grows up from plugs. Never used miscanthus. I've been using Egyptian wheat along my road frontage. It's an annual that loves nitrogen. Long term I use Kan low and Cave in Rock switchgrass mix.

I've planted Cave in Rock switchgrass but it can't reach the height that this plant supposedly reaches. I'm looking to use it in an attempt to block the view of my elevated blind from passing traffic.

Holy Moley! You might want to get a hold of those beans from Jack and the Beanstalk! The Kanlow Switch can get to 7-8 feet. Maybe you can transplant some cedars. The grow faster. In about 3 to 4 years with fertilizer and water they will take off. I like Egyptian Wheat. You can get 10 to 12 feet easy in a summer .

Most of the grasses go dormant in winter with only the roots surviving....many times the grass on top breaks off and blows all over getting stuck in everything and makes a mess......this may be more of a nuisance in the suburban landscape and not out in the country....

Never tried bamboo ?

I have 2 types of bamboo on my property already which I can only contain through yearly mowing.  This plant is sterile and only spreads out a few inches a year not like bamboo which expands its growth with runners. This grass is supposedly going to last me 15 years or more from one planting.
