Finally!

Finally decided to mount my own buck. Shot him fall bow 2015. I've got so many customer mounts not being picked up, I figured I'd mount my own today, because I'm guaranteed to pick it up the second it's done

Shop walls are full of completed mounts and no one has the $ to pick them up :/ that's part of business I guess...

Oh well.

 

Mine is coming along nicely. Gorgeous early season cape..

Nice. I always try to pick my mounts up promptly. Being self employed myself with several employees, I like to get paid

I call my taxidermist to get it done. IM on the way with the dough .

I dont even let is sit a day in his shop once its completed.

 

.Maybe you should take a bigger deposit, so when its done they only have a few bucks to pay for it to expedite pick up

He hit my wife's car when he dropped the deer off and has several hundred in damage. He's never coming and I know it. Doesn't answer phone calls or texts. I should have skipped over his deer but it's for his teenage son so I figured it's not his fault. If his kid ever calls me I'll probably give him the head and hopefully get paid one day . It's doing me no good sitting here in my way. I'm already out the $ and labor. My wife's car is never gonna get fixed, so at this point it's just aggrivating to look at it hanging here. I rather it gone.

You should have had Troopers take the accident report when it happened..Both you and the your insurance company would have had his info...

The repair costs were double from what I asked him to pay for too. A lot of the damage was superficial, So I told him not to worry about the cost of them, just the worst damage was $510.. and his deer head with the extras was a little over $700..

At this point I don't even care about the car (although my wife does lol) I rather him come get his deer.

jay - by all means, report this to your insurance company - explain what happened, the damage, and follow their lead. You have his name and number - don't let him get away with it. It' not to late to file a report if that is what insurance company wants.  Also he owes you for the deer head. Small claims court - do it.   You are still young - set a precedent NOW.  You are very generous and kind -but what this guy did is so far over the line, it simply has to be dealt with. If you want - I would love to give this guy a piece of my mind.

Being self employed is not easy .I am self employed and have to chase my money once in a while . Don't understand way someone would have taxidermy work done if they can't afford to pick it up in a timely manner.it a luxury not a nassity. You are a good guy that does awsome work. There's plenty of good people out there keep up the good work and you'll be fine.
