Question about cleaning the exterior of a shotgun

I've used solvent to remove residue on outside of muzzle. No issues. Make sure wipe completely clean. I use Remington R.E.M. Oil or Balistroll to wipe down and prevent rust on the exterior of the barrel.

Check your SG owners manual and watch YouTube cleaning videos for more info. Good luck.

Watch out for Copper Eliminators or Solvents used to remove Carbon Fouling. They can ruin your Stock or any Plating or Inlaid on it. The Label will tell you. I use Remington Brite Bore mostly. It does a good job. On a badly fouled Rifle Barrel I use Pro-M7. It works great. Be sure to oil the Barrel after using M7 though. It leaves your Barrel squeaky clean and will rust.

Always remember to run a patch or two through it to get the oil out if your going to shoot it.

Sent from my flip phone with the big buttons so I can see them
