Petition for Year Around Coyote Hunting.

What exactly is this petition going to do? http://www.thepetitionsite.com/ ??  "Care2 Petitions"??

Never heard of 'em, and I'm fairly confident the Division of Fish and Wildlife never have either, and even if they did, don't care - nothing they can do about some anonymous online petition. So this is just pi**ing in the wind.

There needs to be direct communication with the council to get them to even know there is an issue to be discussed, let alone begin the process of changing the law.

FWIW: next meeting is this Tuesday: http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/fgcnclmtg.htm

This coyote problem is amazing. Did I miss something on how or why our NJ div of Fish and Wildlife was not motivated to curtail or eradicate these critters. Is there a coyote rescue group, no funds, or environmental reasons that has slowed a response to a problem?

The first one I saw was about 10 years ago when I was duck hunting off QuakerBridge Rd 2.5 miles from Atsion Lake. To be honest, it spooked me. That coyote was huge. He looked close to be in the 50 to 60 lbs range. He was chasing deer and they ran and swam through our Wood Duck decoys.

I saw two coyotes this year - one fall turkey hunting back in November, one deer hunting in December - two different spots in two different counties. BOTH times the yotes were within 400 feet of houses! We aren't talking sparsely populated areas - I'm talking Camden and Gloucester Counties!

I don't think the public realizes how close these yotes live to them.

I saw one watching Geese across the street from the Kings Grant lake in Marlton last spring. He was waiting for them to cross the street and grab breakfast. Those little goslings can't fly. Easy pickings!
