Stevo's Adult Rimfire Range Day

Stevo

Recommended Posts

Since we had such a great time at the youth day I figured why not have a day for the parents. But lets add a little competition to the mix.

Rim Fire Rifles Only

50 and 100 yard competitions

Best 5 shot group closest to the Bull wins.

This is how it works. 5 shots say your group measure .25 and you are .75 from Bull your score will be 100.

If you shoot a .23 group but are 1.25 from the Bull you shot a 1.48  Get it?

I am thinking January 29th at Colliers Mills weather permitting. If we need to reschedule we will. If anyone knows of an indoor Range that would be willing to host this for us please let me know. I will bring my micrometer and we will have two guys measure each target to be fair. Any Bench Style Rests can be used. Rimfire Rifles only.

Get those little tack drivers out of your safe and lets have some fun.

I doubt I could make it, maybe the next one, but consider adding a standing off hand competition for score  That's what we do at www.n-ssa.org with the muskets .Then your method of score for any ties.  Need a consistent small scoring target I guess though. Have not shot 22 in a long time. Need to buy one instead of borrowing.

It will be fun. Get those little 22's out and head on over Sunday morning. We will start at 10am. Is Dunkin Donuts the one that has large coffee containers? If so I will grab one.

Because of the caliber we are shooting Ear Protection is not mandatory but Eye protection is. Bring your Rifle, Bags and Rest, Spotting Scope if you have one, and a folding chair. I will Bring a table, and some scoring targets. I have two target stands which are the Ft Dix type. If we can get 3 more then we can have 5 people shoot at a time. If someone has them or are driving past Dix on the way and can grab them that would be a big help. I have the boards to make them but no cardboard.

This is why we have these Rifles. I expect to see some nice rigs on the table as I know some of you have 22's setup just for Bench Rest.

We will have winner of the 50 yard round shoot it out with the winner of the 100 yard round  to crown the NJWW Rimfire Champion.

I think I have a stack of certified NRA small caliber rifle Targets over at the farm. I can lend you a Rifle if you want. Just don't beat me with it LOL j/k  We will just shoot from the bench.

Nothing fancy here just an old Mossburg bolt action with a 5 shot magazine and a cheap scope on it.

Its on Sunday, maybe I will stop by after work (1:30pm) since C.Mills is only 10 minutes away from my house. Sounds like fun but my 22 has no scope on it cause I'm use to about 1-2 yard shots while trapping  . Bring a yard stick to measure my group if you want me to shoot
