First Snared Muskrat

Set a couple mink "cable restraint" yesterday and saw a log where a rat came up on a few times. So i set "cable restraint"  there and got my first rat today. Cool thing too is that its a black rat.

Not sure what got him but he was alreat dead and part of his face was tore open. May have been a mink but not sure. It never ate the rat so im not sure.

last year i got 3 in cable restraint, out of those three i couldnt put them together to make one, the coons tore them apart

i have also caught a few in "cable restraints". took me a few resets but got it done. was cool to finally catch them with that instead of "steel restraints" . I guess trappers need to be politically correct these days. nice job on the catch.

I've caught a few that way...can't set steel on the logs but them little loops are the next best thing

Tangle them up under water and other critters are less likely to find them

Easy to do.

I have had hawks and coons take them right out of the water while in a 110. Three years ago a hawk got one stuck in a tree while eating it after plucking it out of the water. I had to wait awhile for the rest of the carcass to rot before my BMI 110 fell out of the tree and I got it back
