Texas?

I go to Texas almost once a year mostly for the Cowboys (yes I know you hate me) and for the music and food and have a real good time. This fall while partaking in a game at jerry world I plan on sneaking off for a few days to chase hogs and possibly a whitetail anyone have any outfitter suggestions or ever hunted down there?

I have hunted a few time at The Big Woods in Trinity Tx. It's about 2 hours or so from Dallas. Alot of hogs, decent deer great accommodations

I'll have to check that out thanks!

The thing that sucks about Texas is they don't have a lot of public hunting areas...  I've seen "hogs" in all 4 corners of the state.. But with few Public hunting options......

Although this is true after talking to many regular joe hunters I meet at the bars down there the thing is leases are dirt cheap compared to other good deer states. Granted this doesnt help me because I only have a few days not a few weeks to scout hang stands etc. But from meeting people down there what I have come to conclude is more regular schmucks get a lease with a couple friends close to home instead of fighting out on public lands, which if you ask me is much better.

I would Imagine its better especially since you really don't have a choice.. When I was stationed at Fort hood in texas years ago me and an army buddy couldn't find a public place to hunt..  so we just pulled over off the road in a remote area and hunted.. Turned out the area belonged to a hunt club.. We got caught and were escorted off the property at gun point... :cupcoffee:

Just came back 2 days ago - dove, duck, deer & hogs on my buddy's lease. Love it every time! You might want to check out military bases that have hunting and fishing open to the public. Membership is often @ $50 yearly.

Well damn that sounds awesome I'm glad to hear you had fun and I will certainly look into that thanks for the info!
