 guess my best NJ bow is this 138" 8pt... He was stopped as I began the release but he started forward after the doe he was trailing as I released and I hit too far back. Luckily - 100% liver,  but I had to watch him get up and fall 3 times within 100 yards before he finally came to rest. Longest most grueling hour of my life...

 

 

  If I didn't suck so bad this season and realized that a 30 yard shot in wide open field was really 37 yards, it would be a 150+ inch brute and I would still be on cloud 9....

These are my two best "recurve" kills and my best "compound" kill. The traditional bucks score 135" and 131". My big 8pt I killed with wheels scored 152" with only 1.5" of total deductions!

This is my best NJ bow buck. Just got back from hunting Wisconsin and not taken anything. Rain day i go by 1pm and shot this buck before 2pm. Gross 164 and nets 154"

This 8 pointer was taken this year on November 12. 20 yard pass through shot. He only made it 20 yards. My biggest buck ever. He's at the taxidermist as we speak.

I would have to say my greatest NJ trophy would be the deerage.com confirmed, 6.5 year old "Tripod"... Having all that history with him, knowing how ghostlike he truly was, and the mutual respect I had for a deer that was surviving absolute brutal winters with heavy predation, heavy shotgun gangs driving etc, without the ability to walk on his right rear leg!... Just a true old survivor.    Definitely the kind of deer where value age over bone...
