Union county deer hunt

Recommended Posts

Ok I figgered it out. This was from yesterday. Can't confirm exact location but it was a park hunt. Looks like a nice Kansas hunt. Let em go let em grow!

Fair chase yes, but lots of corn piles, big corn piles......

Was there snow in Union County on that date?

Not exactly Kansas.  Only a select group of hunters get to hunt the parks and if hunting within sight of someone's backyard seesaw is what you call hunting then go for it.  This hunt is a management hunt and nothing more.  Is it a legal, sanctioned hunt? Yes.  But the rules and stipulations you have to adhere to in order to participate are not worth my time.  I'd rather do it my way and pass on this "hunt".  Others are free to go for it as they wish.

Link about the hunt.  Signup sheet for the waiting list is at the bottom of the webpage.

After reading the specs about the hunt, it is exactly what I thought it was, an attempt to show the public that the "officials"   know what they are doing which they clearly don't.   A hunter is now an "agent" ?  The opposition to this hunt is so extreme which is why they need to redact the names of the hunters involved.  Can you imagine that some county employee is in charge of protecting the names on that list?

Such removal will be accomplished through the efforts of selected hunters, acting as agents of the County of Union, shooting over baited sites.

They also require an FID card in addition to the license in order to hunt which is not required by the state in order to hunt.  No thanks.
