Greenwood Lake Walleye

Recommended Posts

I just moved to the area from the pacific northwest. I'm pretty excited to go walleye fishing since I didn't really get to this past year with the move. Will be doing most of my fishing on Greenwood lake. I've been told that the NY side is the best for walleye.

Most of my experience has been in rivers with bottom bouncers.

What tactics do most people use here. I've been researching slip bobbers but have never used them. Are these effective here?

The river I fished on in Washington was a reservoir of sorts, so the fish followed the water up as the reservoir was filled and stayed deeper when it wasn't being filled. Does this ever happen with Greenwood? Are there any key structures or occurrences to look for here? What depth range do you typically look for?

Thanks for the help!

I've caught some walleye in greenwood, mostly by accident though, besides greenwood, right near there is the monksville res, it also has a good population of walleye, Schwartzwood lake is another good place, but like I said, I get them by accident running crank baits and spinner baits for bass.

Hunt with a Vizsla, cause life's to short to hunt with an ugly dog! :D RIP Tilly monster. (Attila) 2004-2017.
