Did you find out what kind?  I couldn't tell.  I saw the foot and coloring and assumed tree rat.

I had a red shouldered hawk hang out near my house every year from Nov to Feb for 4 years.  Saw it destroy birds and squirrels as did the red tails.  Killing machine.

Now you have me second guessing myself.  Based on the hawk, and its typical prey, I automatically assumed bird.  But it could possibly be a small rodent.
