Pretty breezy up here. Running a little late so I got in the tree about 3:10. Bumped in to the neighboring landowner on the way out and he told me that there are a couple of nice bucks running around on the mountain that he has been seeing pretty frequently. He showed me some cell phone pics of a nice 8 and then said that the other buck puts that one to shame. He also told me that I could set a stand in a piece of land he owns if I wanted to because he isn't able to really hunt much this year. Good guy. I told him I'll set one and he can use it any time he wants to and offered to bring him some venison if I stick one. The world needs more people like him.

Yeah. I agree. He is a great guy who has let me hunt his land before and I've helped him track a couple of deer over the years. He has also chased a handful of tresspassers off of this piece I hunt over the years too and he keeps a close eye on the whole mountain. Good people.

 

So no bucks moving tonight. A few young flatheads under my stand as the sun went down, but never had a shot at any of them due to the low light. No worries. I will probably head out again tomorrow
