Polishing bolt on Savage 220f

Anyone do this? Did it make it any smoother for you?

I have never even seen one but it can't hurt. I would use J-B Bore Cleaning Compound. I have used this stuff to polish AR parts and even to remove surface rust on Barrels. It is non embedding. Whatever you polish with it you have to put oil on it right away to prevent rust. I also use it to Hand Lap new Barrels to reduce break in time. Like I said I have never even seen one before but you want to do most of your polish work on the Bolt Rails in your receiver. That is where you will get the most Burs.

 

I am starting to get around pretty good now. Next week I am going to start doing Guns for fellas. If you want me to do it for you I will. I can make your trigger a little better too.

Cool thanks! Glad to hear your up and moving better! I will post a pic of a 220 that mine will aspire to be. I did the lugs of the bolt with 600 lapping compound, didnt need much it was close. I dont have a tool to do the rails.
