  3. Rusty or Little M are needed here
  4. You called in a turtle?
  5. Pretty nice property I like it
  6. Saw it while calling to hens…
  7. Been a busy morning a lot Jake’s today three with hen right off roost Then at 730 had two Jake’s come in gobbling their heads off followed by two totally silent Jake’s about hundred yards behind them .
  8. I'll take the trap dye and #10 misc. stuff On #10 I really just want the kayak anchor and the sharping stone. If anyone else wants the shell holder, buck rattle and airsoft red dot that's fine I can even bring stuff north to Manalapan if 'Squan is too far south for anyone.
  9. A few far off gobbles n some hen chatter… then all been quiet
  10. quiet morning again but called in a hen. I know eventually ones gonna have to break loose
  11. Terrific! What bait/lures?
  12. Same. Today was the first morning I’ve been able to get out. Zone 4. Couple hours before work. Had a Couple distant gobbles not on the property I was on at first light. Also Sounded like maybe a couple hens or maybe a Jake right before first light. Once they hit the ground, nothing. I’m not much of a turkey hunter I’m just getting back into it after years and years but I found birds on Sunday mid day In a field edge by a swamp and figured they would stick around in the area. one lone tom out in the middle of another Field on my way down the road. oh well, I’ll get back at it in a couple days
  13. very quiet my section of zone 12
  14. My Club property is in 12. I have hunted on and off over the last 20 years. More off than on. Never saw a LOT of birds. My gauge was the number of birds I saw during the fall bow hunting seasons. If I saw birds regularly, I would get a permit that Spring. If not, I wouldn't bother. I've been successful about 20% of the time. Some came very easy, some very hard. I basically consider turkey hunting for me, something to do if you have nothing better to do. As with anything else in hunting, if you are blessed with land that has good populations, it can be lots of fun. I have one property that I cannot hunt spring turkey because workers are present in the fields. I have seen lots of turkey and could practically walk up on them. But, that's a different story.
  15. I slept in this morning also. Haven't heard even one gobble. I'm in zone 14. Very "different" from years past.
  16. Not much in zone 9. I slept in this morning (getting up at 4 A.M. two days in a row took its toll on me). I will try and get out tomorrow morning (work is getting in the way). Best of luck to all.
  17. Nice fish. But look at the flows. The yellow triangles are daily averages. We’re so used to all this rain that rivers are starting to “look low” when in reality, they remain higher than normal.
  18. 600 Acre farmland, sounds like a dream good for you ,good luck !
  19. enjoy the hunt, good luck
  20. I know some of us had good results but my experience in the zone 12 spots I hunt has been unusually quiet for A week so far. The last 3 mornings, I only heard a couple of distant roost gobbles this am & haven't heard any from the ground hunting till noon. One landowner says he's seeing a lot less birds in general. So I'm wondering if my spots have gone cold, start of turkey rut a little late this year, etc. I'm gonna keep grinding because I'm familiar with getting the silent treatment & I'm seeing enough sign to know they are around. What is everyone else's thoughts & experience so far?
  21. Jack, congratulations on another beautiful buck, and love that wall of fame !!!
  22. Today
  23. Mark I by far have to have a drink to call a spade a spade. It’s a conversation I would have with you face to face as you know crip. Want to make a difference stop acting like bow hunters are some elite club. People like you who wound deer might want to think about making the switch. Have a little more respect for the animals you hunt.
