You guys realize the absurdity of all this? You're talking about 73 forms of ID's. Kicked out for this or that, come back later, dot your i and cross your t, etc etc, but yet the borders are WIDE OPEN! WTF?

My issue is that when it becomes mandatory to have the real ID in May of 2025. Will all these so called newcomers have to provide the same documentation? I highly doubt it. Today someone that has a DL for the past 45-50 years still needs 6 points of ID to renew their DL when they go to the DMV. No such thing for the newcomers as it stands today. They need one or two documents. Once again AMERICANS LAST!

NJ MVC does suck, Roy .... but there are "Names Must Match" sections on their website. I think your wife's problem is ... name differences between her "Primary" document and her "Secondary" document?

I never thought about it, but does NJ have a season for them? It would make a unique mount

The level of scrutiny for a Real ID is higher than for a regular drivers license. These are some of the issues people have. I’m sure when your wife called, she didn’t mention her birth certificate was in her maiden name and that she took your last name legally when you got married. She would just have listed the document. Until it is inspected, assume there could be an issue when your last name changed for any reason (adoption, marriage, divorce). Sorry she had to go through the hassles.

That's a great plan, I'm happy to learn that you are not afraid to use straps and anything that makes training interesting is a plus!

DMV has been 90% better since it was taken private over twenty years ago. Most people just ignore all the information available to them and show up, have an issue, and start yelling. But you no longer wait for your license, they mail it to you. So in and out fast these days. I made an appointment online for two days out and wasn’t inside more than 15 minutes.

My wife did read and pay attention. She had beyond the points required. She actually called and told the person at the DMV what she had just to be sure and they said yes you have all you need. She did this because my daughter a few months back tried to get her real ID and got kicked back because she only had one proof of residency. Her fault. But today my wife only had to produce one proof of residency even though she had three because of my daughter situation from when she went. No where does it say a marriage certificate is required if you are using a birth certificate.

Tailgate for Sundays race has begun

This is one reason why small town life is good. Had to renew my license last month, took everything but the kitchen sink. The young lady giggled and said " this is all we need Sir" didn't even have to have my DD-214 like last time. In and out in about 10 minutes. I do not miss my days in Jersey dealing with the crowds at the DMV! I honestly feel for you all, that have to deal with this.

What call were you using, I gotta get me one of those!
