I don’t think the cold is that much of a factor. I’ve hunted upstate in NY in spring when it’s very cold and had snow flurries falling and they gobbled. I think every area is different but I still think the full moon could play a part. Every animal behaves differently during the moon. Humans more so!

Starting to feel a little bit better after taking a few days off. I skipped MMA Thursday an dSaturday and haven't lifted either. I played soccer last night and that was fun. I think I was just wearing myself down from going too hard and not really recovering enough. I'm going to MMA tonight, but depending on what we're doing I'll just go as easy as I need to go. I am going to put a focus on recovery, de-stressing, mobility and just taking better care of myself overall. Somehow I got a little bit away from that mission and I need to get back to it.

We have a weird one here. There is a Jake on this farm that is constantly gobbling. I never heard a turkey gobble as much as this one. I'll be surprised he lives much longer as much racket as he makes. Probably attracting every coyote and fox in the county lol He seems smart though. Showed up on the edge of the field but wouldn't come in. Neat though.. in the cool morning you could see the breath leaving his beak after every gobble. He's gone quiet now. Gonna have to leave soon for work. At least we saw something.

could it be the cold temps at least here in North Jersey that can shut the birds from talking?

Looking for recommendations for a fish finder/GPS combo for a small boat (15 foot Duck Boss). I mainly use it for duck hunting but I do use it fishing/crabbing the bays in the summer. Went to West Marine and of course they try and sell me a $2,000 combo. Previously had a 5 inch screen so would like something bigger since at times it was hard to see. I would also like to keep it around $500-750 range.

JUST ASKING A QUESTION.............I often hear that UBNJ protects a bow hunters rights. How do they do this? I see dinners here and there, and read on their website that they secured Sunday bowhunting & allowed for 150 feet rule from elevated platform (all good things). I just know little about them; other than seeing few stickers on vehicles & a dinner here or there.

I'm out in 12. No gobbles heard again this am which is very unusual for this spot. I did see a hen roosted this am in the usual roost area.

My Dad left his Beretta Silver Hawk on the ground in a rest area. It was a large, wooded area that we always stopped for rabbits. Well, he shot one and when he got to the car, he laid down the gun to gut the rabbit, put the rabbit in the trunk and drove away. About 15 minutes went by before he realized it. He went back and a couple were spending some alone time. The guy came out of the car with his gun and gave it back to him.

Just passed on 5 jakes, leaving them for next year or a kid. Beautiful morning
