  1. Past hour
  2. It’s been all ground blinds because of ease and concealment, but I can train her to hunt out of a tree. Will need to get a harness but I’m sure they have them.
  3. We did the same at age 14. 4 of us throwing snowballs at cars. Hit a car, three guys jumped out, chased us down, and beat our asses. Lesson learned.
  4. Wildfowl did an article a few years back about Collared birds. Unfortunately the data gets very poor results due to that bird being considered a trophy. Though when a collared bird is spotted you can still report it. I spotted a few Canadas (Canadians are people not geese) a few years ago. They were collared in NYC at a park and reported in Lawrenceville.
  5. It is similar to neck collar. They need away to identify the bird without catching or harvesting it as it migrates.
  6. Congrats! Nice looking fish.
  7. Excellent! I gave it a shot with 154 the other night and got zippo.
  8. Also do not “trout lift” to set the hook. Learn to “strip strike”. Keeping your rod tip in the water can help with this. Saltwater fish have harder mouths.
  9. Today
  10. Brand new never used. pick up in freehold. $75
  11. Finally a beat down (on me). Scouted out a new high water spot with a steep bank into the river as I literally slid into it on my back. After that recovery and some wet arms - went 10 of 12 between 3:30 and 5. Good fishing. Not great but much needed. Then between 5 and 6:30 it was literally a fish every cast. Insane fishing. All on double dart green chartreuse with 1/4 and 1/20 ounce trailer. I forgot my warm socks and had just patched my neoprene waders so wore my thin ones - got out of there by 7pm while I could still feel my legs (barely) and with frozen feet. I landed two doubles - they did me a favor they fight each other and not me. They come in much faster! The night really slowed after 6:30 anyway. Even mix of buck / roe perhaps slightly more roe but none would make it to even 4#. I have no idea what my totals were - not that it matters. I was in in a stretch of river between Shawnee and Smithfield
  12. I slate call and one box. Never does me wrong.
  13. Never more than 1 a year in 5 - when there is a second or 3rd - zone 2, which is why z5 sucks
  14. I never seen anything like that. Why not the leg as usual. I don’t like that .
  15. Awesome bucket list fish congrats!
  16. ^ this system works!
  17. +1 Early 80's, as 12 year old me was chucking snowballls at cars. Old dude with his grand daughter pulls around, gets out, and kicks the ever living shit out of me. This old dude looked like santa, and he didnthold back. Kicked my ass something for real, and the girl, maybe 10 at the time, was cheering him on. Left an impression on me. Dont chuck snowballs at cars. Or santa.
  18. Ahhh. ok. There's some nice bucks in zone 5. It is highly dependent upon the location. anecdotally, I think the herd is down in the region overall. Though back east in Mo Cnty its booming.
  19. Previously they were only ranch. I like that unit because it was not on the radar, I hunted it twice. The first time I did the season was 3 weeks long. Then they figured if they divided it they could make twice as much money. "C" suckers!
