  1. Past hour
  2. Carry the bear pepper spray in ny fishers and coyotes coming in to the calls is more common for me. Fishers are nasty. i will Admit seeing bear cubs on May 1 not much bigger than a paint can was pretty cool but extremely unnerving at the same time
  3. Yup; I’ve had a couple of bears climb up my stand. Once they realized I was in my stand they raced down and ran off.
  4. Hopefully works out for you....seemed quiet last year for you compared to amount around.
  5. You sound scared of bears. I have seen very few aggressive, rather most are curious.
  6. We will get some new bear hunters on some bears this October for sure!
  7. Well after my hospital visit I have really started to watch what I eat due to having hi sugar. In hospital it was up to 400 once out it started to trend down. I haven't had bread of any kind in 14 days. Only real carbs I've had are rice with sushi . In 8 days my sugar hasn't been over 160(I know still kinda hi) I've also cut out sweetened Iced tea. I haven't had soda in almost 2 years as it is. Changed snacking habits to to raw cashews and almonds got fasting blood work this morning so we shall see. Hoping I'm not diabetic and it was just the antibiotics and infection. but honestly I feel so much better. More energy sleeping better with out the carbs I probably won't go back even if it turns out I'm not. I will say the first couple days with no carbs I felt crappy sluggish and tired but once my body started using the protein as energy I def noticed a huge change
  8. @not on the rug Just the overall feeling better has been the best. I have one friend doing carnivore now and 2 more looking into it
  9. Nice job @TroutandBucks! People are often amazed at how a carnivore (or meat-based style) ofeating can not only help them drop weight, but also leave them feeling energized, clear-headed and satiated. Routine day at the office for me today, then headed home. I grilled some sausages last night so I'm going to do some leftover sausage and a whole bunch of eggs for dinner tonight. Might do some veggies...might not. Kids' MMA class then adult class afterwards.

I still have a buck on camera holding both sides
  11. Today
  12. Down about another ~3lbs seem to be losing about 1/2 pound per day not bad. Been doing alot of fasting but feel good. Yesterday did yard work and only had 1 meal around 1230 and that was 3 eggs and a bunch of steak. Will repeat the same today as I still have a bunch of left over steak from grilling sunday. Overall feel good. Will miss my weight goal i put in for friday but it would have been only a diet of shakes to get there and im much happier with just the carnivore focus and eating wholefoods
  13. You yankees up north just have to do yo' job -- the hunt has been re-instated.. so no excuses! Just pretend that every time (a bear's) bell is rung, an angel gets his wings! Go kill a bear.

The deer in the middle, in front of the white oak has 1 inch nubs. First I saw so far this year. Picture is not to good, I used my surface pro. Typical pine buck
  16. Well- Next Monday is the opener. Instead of using Permethrin again on my Cloths and Daypack,I sit on and have another Black Bear investigate my Calling Location,I will be using my proven " to me" - Clothes and Daypack protection of up to 40% DEET. I have had a good 3 Black Bears Lumber on away from me after Grunting over the years. My clothes were sprayed well with either Cutter,Repel,or Deep Woods. I also now take in a 7.5 oz. Big Can of Cutter Backwoods/ High Deet. I prefer the Spray rather then the slower pump . Up here in the North Counties - there are huge Boulders everywhere. Never know if a Black Bear is close. Mostly though,I don't want to kill one . Almost had to last Spring. The old Bead on the nose + Copper plated #4s. I had no DEET on that day. For my Neck, I use something with no DEET. I can't prove any of this. Permitherin does not seem to faze them while DEET Makes them Snort and Lumber off. I always carry 2 Good Knifes when,I Hike as well. I understand there are not many Black Bears in South Jersey. Give it some years. Right now you guys are Lucky.
  17. Brian's the man in charge, my lack of people skills relegates me to the parts of the hunt that do not involve human interactions. But there's plenty of room up here so I don't see why not.
  18. Definitely a few around, been seeing a few on their feet around my house lately.
  19. Congrats , what bait did you use ?
  20. A post from last year's trip to Cape Cod... https://www.instagram.com/reel/C50SOdPujGu/?igsh=ZXN4MGpzeG94bXlk
  21. My wife came home yesterday in a white suit, smelling like honey, and covered in bee stings. She's a keeper.
  22. I'll be nearby up there in my little slice of heaven at the end of that week for muzzleloader... hopefully I'll score. If so, I'll be begging the Bucksnbows Apple Dumpling Gang to help me with the drag
  23. Do you have any more room available. I can definitely help out with baiting and hanging stands if needed.
