  1. Past hour
  2. I have been out all 3 Days so far. Today down near Rt. 287 on Public,I heard just 1 Gobbler. And he Gobbled twice and that was it. I have been walking over Hill and Dale. Try again tomorrow
  3. Jake down. I was moving real slow, sitting at least 1/2 hour in each spot & calling very little since it's been so quiet. The plan was to be ready for the silent bird. On about my 5th stop @ 10 am, I looked up & spotted a Jake about 60 yds away in an opening, then another. I didn't want to risk calling since he would be focused on me & I had to move a little to make a shot. The 3 jakes flanked me & I took 1 in the next opening at 25 yds. 1 bird jumped on the down bird & beat it up a little then gobbled. 1st gobble heard on the ground this week. He hung out for a while & eventually drifted off. Done for the week.
  4. Love the landmine, I always had one, try one handed military press, great for shoulders without the danger of injury. Never used a fat bar, there are better ways to train grip without impacting your other lifts but to each his own
  5. I thought the same thing when I saw one 30+ years ago on my friends property near Blairstown. I was sitting in a blowdown during deer season and not used to hunting in those "big woods" up there and everything has a different perspective. From a distance coming down the hill , I thought it was a small bear. The next experience was 15 years ago at the sane friends, went up for dinner and their dog came in with a mouth full of quills. Fun evening to say the least!
  6. I remember the first time I saw a porcupine. It was in the Newark Watershed. I was bow hunting, standing on the ground when one walked toward me. As a City Boy, I had no clue. All I knew was that Jungle Habitat closed that year and there were rumors of them releasing animals into the wild. It looked like a small Bear to me. They are much bigger than they look in pictures. The actual body is small. The quills make it look huge. Scared the hell out of me.
  7. No reason to change it up. Meat, eggs, seafood, butter, salt. Some organ meats if you can tolerate them. If you find yourself hungry, just eat more. Your body will naturally adjust. How much weight are you trying to lose?
  8. The K-i-s-s-i-n-g Song [Jack Harris ] and [Mark] sitting in the tree K-i-s-s-i-n-g! First comes a bow. . Then comes UBNJ. Then comes a Harris and Mark in the baby carriage, Sucking on their Bows, Wetting their pants, Doing the hula, bow-bow dance!
  9. Congrats BnB!! Big ol male box turtle! Found a dead turtle shell just prior to finding the live one!! The circle of life!!
  10. Is hunting with a Matthews really hunting? So freakin' lethal, it's really not fair. Why would I ever handicap myself with a x-gun??? UBNJ rocks! United we stand, divided we fall!
  11. South zones are looking good to me, based on my 3 days out so far. Got my opening day bird who was with at least 2 other toms and at least 4 hens. Yesterday I almost got my dad his first turkey on a private farm we can hunt - had a very vocal jake hovering around us but he never came in. Then, in a different spot, this morning I harvested a double with a buddy of mine - we are done by 6:15am - story to come later But we set up (unknowingly) by the roost -- must have had at least 6 maybe 8 Toms on the roost, not counting the hens. I love turkey hunting when it's like this But so far, all my normal spots are still producing birds. I didn't even scout - just went to spots I had success before in the past. So we are very fortunate down here - whatever is causing the bird population to drop up north (and really around the country) hasn't hit the southern part of NJ [yet] -- at least where I'm at.
  12. Congrats. I still have to pick up mine.
  13. Jack Harris. Why don’t you tell everyone how you feel about Crossbows. How you think you’re so much better then crossbow hunters because you shoot a Mathews. How you think crossbow hunters wound more deer. How you think the season should be separate. You and Mark make a good couple. ❤️ with your pretty little noses in the air.
  14. Today
  15. He’s looking for the salt in your minerals. Porcupines were notorious for eating loggers’ axe handles left out overnight because of the salt left on the handles from sweat.
  16. Been feeling great and the general body pain is starting to decrease as the weight comes off at the 21 pound down mark now not bad for a few days less than a month. We will focus on the next 20 and trying to get that off as quick as possible and probably will feel much better. Carnivore has been good to me and will continue with that and maybe add in some extra hard weeks of just shakes to change things but we will see
  17. He shows up on camera from time to time !!
  18. Your memory is correct and thanks for what you do.
  19. There's an invasive worm under the 5th leaf from the right about a 1/4 of the way up the screen. Looks wounded. Probably by the robin sitting in the 16th branch from the left about an inch down from the top of the screen. Looks like there is a yellow jacket nest nearby too, judging by all of them in the pic. None of that can be seen until you use the new "zoom and enhance" Powertoy feature in Windows.
  20. At the moment this stuff is supposed to be picked up today
  21. Feeling pretty good today, although my allergies are definitely starting to kick in. Busy day today...it's my wife's birthday so we had cake for breakfast, a tradition our daughter started during COVID lockdown. I made her a pineapple upside-down cake and it was delicious. Work will be busy and kind of hard today. A woman who has worked for me for the company for 11 years and for me for past 3 years is leaving and today is her last day. She's a fantastic employee and I'm hoping her replacement can fill her shoes. We're having a party for her at noon. Soccer tonight, then I'm grilling some ribeyes for dinner. Looking forward to being home.
