    AMERICANS LAST!

This is one reason why small town life is good. Had to renew my license last month, took everything but the kitchen sink. The young lady giggled and said " this is all we need Sir" didn't even have to have my DD-214 like last time. In and out in about 10 minutes. I do not miss my days in Jersey dealing with the crowds at the DMV! I honestly feel for you all, that have to deal with this.
  4. What call were you using, I gotta get me one of those!

    AMERICANS LAST!

Just say Hispanic or Mexican or South American. We all know. The country is screwed.
  6. I got my first Real ID four years ago. Just got it renewed in the last month or so. It was simple. But they are sticklers for little things if the documents aren’t perfect. A woman in front of me used a bill as one of her points, but it goes to a PO Box and not her home address and they kicked her for that. But DMV tells you all that if you bother to read it and pay attention. Just bring other documentation is all. I carried in extra point documents both times and didn’t need it either time.
  7. Need to vent. In October of 2023 my 4 ton heat pump failed and my HVAC contractor who's name rhymes with RJ GRONER offered me repairing the 12 year old unit's TXV valve or replacing the unit entirely for 2,000 more with a 10 year warranty. So i replaced the unit for $8,000. It was working well until 4/12 when i heard it short cycling. I reset the breakers and the problem continued. The contractor came out and finally diagnosed the unit as having a bad TXV valve which they could replace under warranty, but the part would need to be ordered. I called the contractor on the 16th who waited until then to order the part and said 7-10 days for the part. I called today and am awaiting a call back. In the mean time I called Amana customer support who offered no other solution than to call the installer. They would not tell me the name of the distributor the unit was sent to to try and locate parts sooner. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the unit I purchased, Amana's website to contact them, Amanas call center, and my contractor for not having common parts on hand or to be able to obtain them sooner. In the mean time I am using twice the amount of electricity to heat my home with the emergency heat setting. I am also concerned now that my "New" system is being taken apart and pieced back together and if the short cycling will shorten the lifespan of other components. I am trying not to be that angry customer but I feel as though I am getting the run around.
  8. He shot at another bird they came in from two different sides
  9. Its a shame how Americans are treated here in America and abroad. Illegals enter the country and are given vouchers to appear with and can use those to fly. In Texas Illegals are pulled over a picture taken and released because the system is overwhelmed. Ambulances services have shut down due to the increased volume and non payment near the border. Yet we sent billions to the Ukraine. I have started asking people how many millions in a billion so they can understand the magnitude of x billion dollars.
  10. The BHC end of season sales at Walmart are way better . 😂

    AMERICANS LAST!

A few weeks ago, I set up an appointment to get the TSA Pre check and had all of the paperwork that they required. I get there and the lady told me that I have to come back because, my original birth certificate did not have my parent's names on it. I told her that I had used it to get my Real ID driver's license but, she said no. I had to go online to get a certified copy of my birth certificate that had my parent's names on it for $80.00. I told the lady that the government is flying illegals into this country and giving them driver's licenses and she just ignored me.. Went back last week with the proper paperwork and I was approved a few days later.

    AMERICANS LAST!

Complete joke the DMV is, but any illegal walks in gets a license and is registered to vote.. way to go liberals
  17. I scheduled for a real ID 5 times .each time they cancelled . so when my license renewal was due it says you can get the new real ID at that time . I went with everything required , they told me my original birth certificate was no good , as they have a different number sequence . i leave and go to vital records . Get a new cert with updated numbers . go back and they said ok all good . BUT we don’t have the forms here for a real ID . so WTF didn’t they say that originally? as in your event their were three none NJ citizens , that showed one piece of paper that was handed back to them . all my stuff was held to be scanned in another WTF. I have had my Nj drivers license for 45 years , and need to show the required points , and they get the same license without ANY real documentation
  18. Mazz your making this turkey hunting thing look easy . Congrats on a nice double .
  19. What an awesome morning! It's days like this that remind me why I love turkey hunting. For those that enjoy reading my epics, here's another one. Skip down below for pics for those that don't want the details. But the short summary is - my buddy shot a turkey, a couple minutes later I told my buddy to duck(!), and I shot a turkey over him. The End. Last year, I took a buddy of mine to a spot to help him bag a bird - I was the guide then, I was already tagged out, but I knew I could get him on birds here, and he got one within 30 minutes of fly-down that day. This year, we planned to go together again, except this time I had a tag with me also. The plan was for us to get a double. Ambitious, but last year we could have done it if I had a gun with me, so we were hoping this year it would happen again. We entered the woods at about 5am and made the long walk to "the spot". I knew where the birds were last year, but had no idea if they would be roosting in the same area as last year. Bright moon meant we could turn off the headlamps and get in more stealthily. As soon as we got to the spot, and our footsteps broke some twigs, the trees down a hill and directly to our right about 50 yards exploded in gobbles! Oppps! We’re too close! Amazingly, I think they might have been roosting in the same exact trees as last year!! At first I counted at least 3 birds, but we'd soon find out later there were more. We immediately hunker down and don't move. I'm almost positive they heard us, and that is what caused the shock gobbles. It's earlier enough, though, that if we pick a spot and stay still, they will forget all about us. Good thing we had good moonlight to see, because where we were provided no shot down the hill where the birds would be - too much brush and trees in the way. So we slowly creeped about another 10 or 15 yards and noticed here we would have a good opening to see down the hill into some open area where the birds are likely going to be after they leave the roost. My buddy lays down almost in a prone position to my left and slightly behind, and I have to sit in an awkward position next to a tree and some shrubs. We were no more than a few feet apart. Soon, the birds started getting vocal again, talking to each other. There is something special about being in the woods pre-dawn next to a roost and listening to gobblers waking up in the morning, telling everyone else to wake up, too. I tried counting each bird after each volley of gobbles... 3, no wait.. 4! Was that a 5th that just gobbled? O...M...G the woods are going to be flooded with gobblers in just a few minutes once they decide to fly down, all within about 50 yards. I started thinking to myself, “We never really made firm plans on how we will make coordinated shots.” Only thing my buddy said on the walk in was, “We’ll shoot on 1-2-3.” Now my mind is racing, “Is it ‘shoot-on-3’ or is it ‘1-2-3-shoot’”? And “How do I pantomime that question to him?” LOL. I need to plan this better next time. I don’t know how long we waited - we were stone still and silent for what seemed like 30 minutes. We started hearing some hens in the roost as well, and even more Toms. Finally, I see a bird fly down - it’s a Tom. I see another fly down. I was hoping both would walk into that open area down the hill and in front so we’d both have shots at the same time, but it never happened, they were too far apart. We both notice a gobbler soon about to walk into our open area shooting lane. I already got a bird this week, so I want my buddy to get one whether I do or not, so I look at him and hand-gesture to him to “Shoot that bird.” He gets the message, practically belly crawls a couple feet to see down the hill and prepares for the shot. As soon as the bird is in the clear and about 30 yards away, he pulls the trigger and connects! The bird immediately starts flopping and drops. We stay in position as we watched the downed bird stop moving. The other birds got startled, but didn’t spook. We still have gobblers on the ground and more birds still on the roost! The place is loaded with birds. We gesture to each other - but we know what we are both thinking. Let’s wait to see if another bird comes by. Some of the Toms on the ground started walking in the other direction, so I put out a couple clucks and yelps to try to entice them to stick around and come closer. I soon lose sight of the birds. A few minutes pass by and I started thinking I won’t get an opportunity. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I catch movement to my left. Oh no! A hen has walked up the hill where we are and is about to pass us to our left! I look closer, and I see a second head - a red head! - following the hen. We had a hen and Tom climb the hill and are about to pass us on the left about 20 yards away. My buddy is at my 8 o’clock - he’s just behind me and to my left about 5 feet away. I know my buddy doesn't know those birds are there, he’s looking down the hill. My eyes grow wide and I stare right at my buddy with my bug-eyes and nod my head in the direction of the birds - he understands what I’m telling him. He slowly turns his head and sees them, then turns back to me. I mouth the words, “duck”. I’m laughing as I type this, but he totally understands what I was thinking of doing and starts preparing himself. He’s already on the ground prone, and I see him bow his head on the ground and face the dirt; he then uses his hands to cover his ears. The Tom was behind a tree, I couldn’t see him at this point, but he’s going to follow that hen so I know he’s coming out from behind that tree any second. I turn my body, and raise my gun. I’m not really literally shooting over my buddy -- it really was a safe shot -- it's going off to his left (and, yes, I made sure to never, ever cover him with the muzzle). The Tom comes into view. I put the bead on his neck, and briefly notice what I think is a small beard. So I think it is possibly a jake, but I really want this bird so I took the safety off and pulled the trigger. The bird goes down and me and my buddy both start watching the bird wildly flopping until he finally drops. Fist bumps all around! A double, albeit 5 or 10 minutes apart! We go down the hill to retrieve his bird, then back up and go over to my bird. I told him I think mine might be a jake. But we look closer and he has a good size beard and nice spurs! It was a really good bird after all! What an awesome hunt! And were done by 6:30am! We already made plans to do it again next year. We’re done with this spot. We’ll be back next year. I've had a great opening week. I have to consider my turkey season a complete success even if I don't harvest another bird for the remainder. First, I got another opening day bird with my bow, then I almost called in one very vocal gobbler for my dad at the farm, and now today. I'm done for the week - all tagged out. Only bought two A permits. Next up, different spots for B, C and D weeks. Lord willing, I'll have more stories to post. === My bird: 1 inch spurs, 8.5" beard, 21.5 pounds My buddy's bird: 1-1/8" spurs, 10" beard, unknown weight

    AMERICANS LAST!

Not surprised, they are taking the country away from us and giving it away to the “newcomers”. When my grandfather came through Ellis Island he was told if he didn’t learn English he wouldn’t get a job. Back then you had no choice assimilate or go back to the old country. He followed the rule. they make it too easy and ignore the rules for “newcomers” yet stick it to us.
  21. Yes and he was in all kinds of outdoor hunting related magazines. I attended a wildlife photography seminar once.He led an amazing Life.

    AMERICANS LAST!

So, I went with my wife today to motor vehicle to get the new soon to be mandated " Real ID driver's license." She went there with her birth certificate, her social security card, her current driver's license, 3 forms stating our current address mind you only need two. and credit/debit cards. They refused her saying she needed her marriage certificate because he births certificate had her maiden name. We have been married for 27 yrs. and she has been getting her license with her married name for all 27 yrs. Meanwhile one of two people next to her of a certain ethnic group were getting a license. They showed a single piece of paper and a were asked if they had a credit/ debit card. which they provided. They were told to go sit down and wait for their number to be called. We were told to reschedule, WTF is going on in this country!!! Sorry just had to vent
