  4. Targeteers on 46 in saddle brook. https://targeteersarchery.com/
  5. My friend wants to get a hunting compound bow for his 11 year old kid. Any recommendations for a good bow shop in north NJ? Thanks.
  6. My better half and I are still working from home so we are thinking we should rent a summer home on a lake for a week or two this summer so we can work from there and enjoy the evenings. Doesnt matter where, Catskills, Adirondacks, New Hampshire, Vermont etc. Any ideas to help me narrow it down?
  7. Hollow nose ammunition in New Jersey can be possessed in one’s home or other land owned or possessed by them, and it can be used pursuant to the activities of N.J.S. 2C:39-6f. which includes hunting and target shooting. You can buy hollow nose from the dealer, and you can bring it to the exempted places after you buy the hollow nose ammunition.
  8. I can assist you, IF you are willing to do a lot of the work. I see you are from Atlantic County. You will need to bait on three occasions (3 weekends). I can almost guarantee you a bear (nothing is a 100%). Get in touch w me after Labor Day.
  9. You can use for home defense or take it straight to and straight back from range. Not for carrying unless you’re a law enforcement officer
  10. A simple tanning of a hide is the best bang for your buck (relatively inexpensive compared to rug; about $500). I have a tanned hide over a couch in my man cave.
  11. Agree 10o%, especially from the beach a two handed rod is the way to go. If you want an “all in one” line set up get a Wulff Ambush. Short beefy head with integrated floating running line, it’s a beast of a line that punches through the wind really well
  12. I’ve been fly fishing the salt and used to guide on the northern beaches for decades and never once used any weight other than the fly and/or the fly line to get the fly into the strike zone. Not sure what you mean by “a lot of casting”? From the beach, I use an 11’ two hand rod with 36’ shooting heads attached to a 120’ level floating line which is then attached to my Dacron backing. I make a single backcast and power the rod forward and shoot 150’ plus (up to 180’) out into the water. This is far different than presenting a fly to a trout. You’re just looking to punch the fly out there.
  13. I’m at the point where I recognize the need to cull these animals and I have no need for more bear taxidermy. My next one will be treated like a deer, the hide is tossed or given away and I just keep the meat. The idea that hunters MUST pay exorbitant costs to make a rug or do a wall mount is silly. I await my shoulder mount bear from John Noon, and he did my first bear, a rug, many years ago now. After this second bear comes home, I don’t see me doing more taxidermy with any future bears I shoot.
  14. Today
  15. Feeling ok today, but my shoulder is a bit achy. It felt a little funny while I was pressing on Monday, and then we did a lot of arm drags and wrist locks on Tuesday in MMA and I thinkit took a beating. I skipped lifting yesterday and just played soccer instead. It's really aching bad today. I have MMA today and I nkow we're doing striking, but I'm going to have to get this shoulder in order or I won't be able to do much of anything. Wings for dinner tonight. I'm already hungry just thinking about it.

  17. They fucked with me and one of my old vehicles about 10 years ago and I won't set foot in that place either. I did a little internet searching and saw many similar issues popping up on discussion boards. F them
  18. If you are able to get up to the Water Gap area there are plenty of bears there. You do not even need to get in that deep. The early bear season in October is a great time to go. Not too cold and lots of bears roaming for food looking to put on weight for the winter. Yes you need a plan because they can be difficult to get out but many are under 200lbs and if you walk up a bench or two its easy to roll them down hill. I have done that several times. Good luck and have a great time !!
  19. This is a chance to get Everything ya need to hunt for smoking deal. Bow, scope, extra string, string change aid. 2x rope cocking aids. Arrows, broad heads,up graded silence kit. Case to keep everything organized and protected. Everything is in mint condition I am very motivated to sell I need to help my daughter with car repairs. 800.00 for everything.
  20. I’ve take a 200+ bear years ago here in Jersey. Was hunting on a friend of a friends property and was lucky enough to have my buddy there to help me get it out. They are like a big bag of water when dead. Luckily mine was small enough for us to handle without much of a problem
  21. It’s been all ground blinds because of ease and concealment, but I can train her to hunt out of a tree. Will need to get a harness but I’m sure they have them.
  22. We did the same at age 14. 4 of us throwing snowballs at cars. Hit a car, three guys jumped out, chased us down, and beat our asses. Lesson learned.
  23. Wildfowl did an article a few years back about Collared birds. Unfortunately the data gets very poor results due to that bird being considered a trophy. Though when a collared bird is spotted you can still report it. I spotted a few Canadas (Canadians are people not geese) a few years ago. They were collared in NYC at a park and reported in Lawrenceville.
