  2. My favorite saying: "Enjoy life, it has an expiration date". I'm not advocating for irresponsibility. If you enjoy your job, then keep doing it. It's nice to have choices. Some people don't.
  3. You should retire as soon as you are financially able to do so and enjoy life without the stress of work every day. Hunt, Fish , Shoot, Enjoy grand kids but most of all ENJOY LIFE WHILE YOU CAN !! There is no guarantee you will see tomorrow !
  4. Can't really tell with just pics. Can look older or younger when capturing different postures. I'd guess that first one is older than many think. Old bucks get that roman nose(rise between eyes down to nose). other buck has the sunken back and sagging belly but could just be his posture at the moment the pic was taken. Can't go by the racks. They're not P&Y. Need more pics and coordinates to get a better feel. Welcome to the sight.
  5. Today
  6. There is NO right or wrong. You do what works for you and your family.
  7. I agree with Nomad, the first buck looks to 3, + or - a year.
  8. Your first post is pictures, I like you already @WeiszOldOwl !!! Welcome to the site!
  9. I understand that. Each one’s situation is different and you are doing what’s best for your situation. Flip side is no one knows how long they will live, age is just a number. If your happy doing what your doing then your doing the right thing. That’s all that matters.
  10. Very impressive stag- congratulations!
  11. Man it’s funny I get pics like that on my buddies 18 acres. Then I get pics like that on my spot I hunt in state woods/ Wharton state forest. The state woods I hunt gets hit real hard by gun clubs. I hunt a swamp deep in and I see bucks like that and If they are lucky to be 3 yr olds. The bucks like that on my buddies property, I would say 5 yr old.

  18. Maybe I’m wrong. Someone chime in. I can’t see myself retired until I can max out my accts and save invest as much as I can to pass on to my daughter so she don’t have to worry about scraps like I did i don’t work invest plan save do without for my well being. It’s all for her and what I pass on. im trying to take care of me now mentally and physically so I can work till 75. I got a mentally stresswd job at times. Not physical at all But I’m working with the end game of 75 to have enough money I can provide generational wealth
  19. Wow. Congrats on a beautiful stag. Loved the story and thanks for sharing the pics.
  20. Congrats! Amazing pics! If you see Javier Milei - give him a hug from us!
  21. Just seeing this now, Congrats! Thanks for sharing the hunt, i love seeing red stags!!
  22. I shoot the Winchester 180 gr out of it. Killed hogs up to 250lb no problem at all. Very soft shooting and fun. Put whatever scope you want on it I would keep shots under 200 yards... more like 150. Kids can shoot it also. My daughter killed two 100 lb hogs with one shot at 50 yds. (shoulder shots). Just keep an eye out for feeding issues that some of the ruger Americans (1st generation) have. Seems like the clips moves a bit and causes the issue. Such an absolute pleasure to shoot & has become one of my favorite calibers to shoot.
  23. You can buy this and that , but you can't buy time. First chance Retire.
