  4. When I hunted bears in NB Canada, the outfitter used fish carcass and lots of used fry oil.
  5. Nice Jack. The south end is not fishing that good now
  6. Today
  7. once the bait is out I bet within 24 hrs at most bears will be on it. when I did bait for bears I would bait with 100 lbs or more of donuts once per week....Put corn out and top it off with some sweets like Kool-Aid mix, jello mix, etc. Another good type of bait is to save your food scraps instead of tossing them in the garbage,
  8. Awesome!! Enjoy it Never did bowfishing before maybe one of these days
  9. Awesome report!! way to get on some sailfish!!
  10. I lived a mile from Targeteers and always went there, I live over an hour away now and if I still used a compound I would go back. also, a great shop would be Simon Peters in the Newton area
  11. Overall feeling really good diet has been great! and getting more movement in as well. Next weigh in will be tomorrow

  14. My friend wants to get a hunting compound bow for his 11 year old kid. Any recommendations for a good bow shop in north NJ? Thanks.
  15. My better half and I are still working from home so we are thinking we should rent a summer home on a lake for a week or two this summer so we can work from there and enjoy the evenings. Doesnt matter where, Catskills, Adirondacks, New Hampshire, Vermont etc. Any ideas to help me narrow it down?
  16. Hollow nose ammunition in New Jersey can be possessed in one’s home or other land owned or possessed by them, and it can be used pursuant to the activities of N.J.S. 2C:39-6f. which includes hunting and target shooting. You can buy hollow nose from the dealer, and you can bring it to the exempted places after you buy the hollow nose ammunition.
  17. I can assist you, IF you are willing to do a lot of the work. I see you are from Atlantic County. You will need to bait on three occasions (3 weekends). I can almost guarantee you a bear (nothing is a 100%). Get in touch w me after Labor Day.
  18. You can use for home defense or take it straight to and straight back from range. Not for carrying unless you’re a law enforcement officer
  19. A simple tanning of a hide is the best bang for your buck (relatively inexpensive compared to rug; about $500). I have a tanned hide over a couch in my man cave.
  20. Agree 10o%, especially from the beach a two handed rod is the way to go. If you want an “all in one” line set up get a Wulff Ambush. Short beefy head with integrated floating running line, it’s a beast of a line that punches through the wind really well
  21. I’ve been fly fishing the salt and used to guide on the northern beaches for decades and never once used any weight other than the fly and/or the fly line to get the fly into the strike zone. Not sure what you mean by “a lot of casting”? From the beach, I use an 11’ two hand rod with 36’ shooting heads attached to a 120’ level floating line which is then attached to my Dacron backing. I make a single backcast and power the rod forward and shoot 150’ plus (up to 180’) out into the water. This is far different than presenting a fly to a trout. You’re just looking to punch the fly out there.
