  2. Stupid game maybe. Did you nit do stupid things fir fun as a kid. Again what if.. What if your aunt was a man she'd be your uncle. My boat might sink should I not get on it. As the song goes "how do I know where to draw the line if I don't cross it a couple hundred times
  3. Thanks it was getting out of hand. I’m still upset with Mark calling me drunk but, I guess I can handle it.
  4. BHC

    NJ Porcupine

When we still owned the property in the Roscoe area, my cousin built a stand with a roof, just before daylight a Porcupine was on the roof then attempted to get into the stand with him, he unloaded his .35 remington...🤣🤣🤣
  5. Ok need an invite next time❤️. One of my favorites. Looks delicious.
  6. Yep I use it for my warm up sets of deadlifts and mix in S a finisher on some other days as well. By the time I get to my heaviest deadlift sets I switch over to the power bar and im using straps so having a fatigued grip at that point isn't an issue. It's just a cool addition to the gym and keeps training Interesting.

    Part 1...

Maybe a watch party ???? Good luck Russ
  8. OK. That's a good goal. you'll get there. Just stay consistent. My wife and I really enjoy liver (chicken and beef) but many folks don't. I buy this pre-ground meat from my fatm and it contains 7% liver and 3% heart and it's absolutely delicious and you can really barely taste the organs. If you have a grinder, you can try something like that. Chicken liver is fairly mellow, so you can learn how to make chopped liver/pate and just have a spoonful or two each day. It's a great way to get your vitamins and minerals each day.
  9. Pretty much the exact same. Shepard’s pie is specifically made with lamb but the rest of the ingredients are the same.
  10. Pesky critters at my hunting camp in PA. They would eat my stand almost every year. They love the pressure treated woods. I’ve heard it gets them high. Droppings all in my stand. Got smart put tin sides up. Keeps em from climbing in and tearing up the floor as well. Maintaining the stand is an undertaking being it’s deep into the woods/ swamp with no Atv access and sgl on other side which is illegal to use Atv. So I had to make a choice put in the work and do it for ease of future maintenance.
  11. I will need to try the organ meat Im not really a fan but I may give it a shot
  12. Day 6 on metformen. Feeling really good. Been doing fish pork venison and beef with either brocly carrots brussles sprouts or asparagus. Sugar is holding between 94 and 115
  13. Looks great! How much different than Shepard's Pie?
  14. Alright enough of the derailing BS. This is a topic to create interest in attending a UBNJ event. If you have questions about the UBNJ, please reach out to them or post a question in a different topic and keep it civil.
  15. Hands down the best cottage pie recipe I’ve tried. I’ve made this dish several times with different recipes I’ve found online (substituting beef with venison). They were all decent but nothing knocked my socks off. Tried this one last night and it was amazing. Takes some time to make but well worth it. The mashed potato recipe was my own and not from the online recipe (I use lots of butter, cream, salt, and Parmesan cheese) because I had some left over from dinner earlier in the week. Decided to top it all off in the oven with cheddar cheese 10 mins before it was done cooking. Not a traditional cottage pie ingredient but I couldn’t help myself lol. So good I had some for breakfast this morning. Heres the recipe link if anyone wants to try: https://www.recipetineats.com/cottage-pie/
  16. I always liked landmine work as well. Fat bar work is fantastic, and a different way to complete the lift. You don't use a fat bar in lieu of the main lift, but in addition to. i.e. do your typical deadlifts, then add on a set or two of fat bar deads to finish up. Improving your grip strength with always have a positive effect on your lifts anyway
  17. I have shot alot of turkeys and sadly I do not remember them all. On the Brite side you will not forget this one. Congrats on your bird.
  18. Today
  19. I have been out all 3 Days so far. Today down near Rt. 287 on Public,I heard just 1 Gobbler. And he Gobbled twice and that was it. I have been walking over Hill and Dale. Try again tomorrow
  20. Jake down. I was moving real slow, sitting at least 1/2 hour in each spot & calling very little since it's been so quiet. The plan was to be ready for the silent bird. On about my 5th stop @ 10 am, I looked up & spotted a Jake about 60 yds away in an opening, then another. I didn't want to risk calling since he would be focused on me & I had to move a little to make a shot. The 3 jakes flanked me & I took 1 in the next opening at 25 yds. 1 bird jumped on the down bird & beat it up a little then gobbled. 1st gobble heard on the ground this week. He hung out for a while & eventually drifted off. Done for the week.
  21. Love the landmine, I always had one, try one handed military press, great for shoulders without the danger of injury. Never used a fat bar, there are better ways to train grip without impacting your other lifts but to each his own
  22. I thought the same thing when I saw one 30+ years ago on my friends property near Blairstown. I was sitting in a blowdown during deer season and not used to hunting in those "big woods" up there and everything has a different perspective. From a distance coming down the hill , I thought it was a small bear. The next experience was 15 years ago at the sane friends, went up for dinner and their dog came in with a mouth full of quills. Fun evening to say the least!
  23. I remember the first and only time I saw a porcupine. It was in the Newark Watershed. I was bow hunting, standing on the ground when one walked toward me. As a City Boy, I had no clue. All I knew was that Jungle Habitat closed that year and there were rumors of them releasing animals into the wild. It looked like a small Bear to me. They are much bigger than they look in pictures. The actual body is small. The quills make it look huge. Scared the hell out of me.
  24. No reason to change it up. Meat, eggs, seafood, butter, salt. Some organ meats if you can tolerate them. If you find yourself hungry, just eat more. Your body will naturally adjust. How much weight are you trying to lose?
