post # 45 from the link below for APR study in NJ for zones that have it.

https://www.njwoodsandwater.com/topic/18174-qdm-encouragement/page-3

For the purpose of this data analysis, only the southern APR zones were considered, as the northern APR zones differ in human population densities, land use, habitat, and deer hunting regulations.

Oye!  So much for any analysis done in Zone 3.

In Conclusion:

The Division of Fish and Wildlife supports Antler Point Restrictions on private lands where bucks have a chance of reaching a significantly older age because of limited hunting pressure, and where supported by quality habitat suitable to producing annual antler growth in yearling bucks.

The Division encourages private landowners and managers to work cooperatively on a regional basis to meet these goals, but does not see a biological or management imperative to impose APR on all hunters.

Good, remove them from Zone 3.

Sapere aude.

Audeamus.

When you cannot measure, your knowledge is meager and unsatisfactory.

So rusty you think a 11 year old hunter or my 75 year old dad should follow the antler restrictions ????

The youth hunters are the future of this dieing sport you really want them to wait out for 3 points per side ??? You must be single with no kids .

Or the senior hunter like my dad who is 75 plus handicapped you want them to wait for 3 points per side when in all honestly it could be their last deer along with last hunting season ??? They earned their dues,,,,,,,

If that is from the state of nj experts then they are dumb!!!!!  I hunt access to 40 acres that border public land, so I sit on this 40 acres police myself for better bucks, 400 yards away is a hunter on public land and whacks a 4 pointer.....How the heck does this help the herd?  AR needs to be statewide

Ok, so then what good are APR's when you can just call it in as larger take it home and cut it up?, or not call it in and then take it home and cut it up? Point is APR's don't work the way a lot of folks think, I've seen it in a very controlled hunt lead right to high gradeing first hand, and it happened there in under ten years. Now the bulk of the breeding bucks are very large mature very wide 4 pointers, and last I heard they where having issues getting folks to hunt it anymore because of it! Lol

Hunt with a Vizsla, cause life's to short to hunt with an ugly dog! :D RIP Tilly monster. (Attila) 2004-2017.

Here is the result of APR's. Over the past few years. Missing is a larger non typical my buddy's dad shot and a larger buck I saw that I did not get a shot at still haunts me to this day. All Pike County, PA heavily hunted public land deer. You can not honesty tell me it does not work or it's not working. 20 years ago you would be hard pressed to find a spike in these same woods........

That quote from the division is classic wanting private land owners to impose restrictions.

Their is less pressure on state land then their is on private property , cause once you get into deer country every house don't matter if it half a acre , two acres or 100 acres they have a tree stand behind their house along with a bait pile

No APR where this Buck was taken and it does not prove anything regarding APR.

You picked up on that Lunatic?

Correct, I don't think anyone should be forced to follow APRs,  11, 75, or anywhere in-between.
